As founding Director, Dougal has 20 years in the project and property industry leading teams across multiple markets. His blend of practical approach and industry experience provides highly effective solutions.

Dougal leads business development at RAWA and is the licence holder of the RAWA real estate agency business.He specialises in strategic direction, comms and relationship management, background design, construction, development, and project management.  He also has particular interest and experience in affordable and mixed-use housing.


Before founding RAWA Dougal owned his own property advisory business. He’s consulted on Public Works Act transactions and assisted Government agencies to acquire land throughout Auckland. He also co-managed the roll-out of cable television in parts of the region.


He’s managed commercial and large-scale residential developments, leaky building issues, and given senior advice to a wide range of clients from local businesses and high net-worth investors to large multi-nationals and Government agencies.


Dougal holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Valuation and Property Management) from Lincoln University and is a licenced member of the REAA.


He and his wife Sally have two girls. They like to spend time at Rakino Island, where Dougal has built his own bach from shipping containers.

Jeremy is a specialist in project management, master planning, and strategic advice. His decades of cross-industry experience have made him intimately familiar with the needs of private and institutional clients.

As a co-founder & Director of Rawa for 8 years, Jeremy leads project implementation and delivery.


Before establishing RAWA, Jeremy was a Property Manager, Research Analyst, and Registered Valuer at Bayleys. He’s also been a Development Manager, and Sales & Acquisitions Manager at Trans Tasman Properties prior to spending a number of years as owner and operator of a private property advisory company.


Jeremy has an in-depth knowledge of both the Auckland and Christchurch markets and has experience in most other areas of New Zealand. He has managed commercial and large-scale residential developments and delivers turn-key solutions to owner-occupiers and tenants.


Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Valuation & Property Management) and a Diploma of Business Studies from Massey University and has practiced as a Registered Valuer.


Married with three children, family values are high on Jeremy’s list.  As such, he was a community elected Trustee on the Remuera Primary School Board of Trustees, taking care of the school property portfolio.  He also loves participating in off-road adventure events, and he cycles and swims so he can keep up with his kids.

Matt has 25 years experience in banking, corporate finance, property development and project funding, working for trading banks and finance and investment companies both in New Zealand and the UK.

At RAWA Matt works with Dougal and Jeremy to originate and deliver new development projects and work with clients who require RAWA’s project and development management services.


Over the past 10 years Matt’s primary focus has been on originating and leading property development transactions. In addition to a strong strategic focus, Matt has an excellent understanding of risk and return – a skill which is critical to successful property development.


Prior to joining RAWA, Matt was the Executive Director of the Northern Glen Innes Redevelopment Project with Creating Communities and was responsible for the origination, negotiation, set up, funding and oversight of this brownfields and mixed tenure regeneration project.


Matt has been a Director of many other residential developments including The Bealey Ave low-rise 24 unit residential apartment complex in Christchurch and the 111 Dixon Street Limited high-rise apartment development in Central Wellington. Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canterbury.


Matt is married to Bex and has 2 children. Outside of work, Matt is a keen multi-sporter who loves to explore the beautiful terrain NZ has to offer whilst encouraging his family and work colleagues to join him on these adventures. He’s always up for a challenge.
